The auction was just about over and I did not get the item number. To paraphrase--the seller did not say it was a novelty coin. So, I guess they thought it was a authentic coin. It was listed under the error listings. Needless to say, no one had bid on it.

Well of course.

That's the hybrid Walking King 50 Cents-Pence silver/copper coin. Minted a few in 1944/1945 just in case the USA / UK lost WWII and became one country.

It was a strange time in history.
