Hi everyone I was hoping you could help me in deciding if this coin is worth sending in to get graded. Imo its in great shape all the bell lines are very visible (better then the pics show, they are really well defined) and the coin actually still has some decent luster shine (pic doesn't really show it :/)

So opinions please. If the coin sucks feel free to speak up, I just want honest opinions from guys much more experienced then myself :).

Thanks fellas

Oh another thing (not sure if this is common or not) The words on the bell are readable pretty clearly with a magnifying glass. the top two long lines then the first two shorter lines below it. The last line down you can only make out letters but the first 4 lines of text are pretty clear and are readable.

Well it doesn't suck, That's for sure.
The pic/scan is not the best but based on your description and from what I see
I would say it's low MS (60-62) due to the chatter on the obverse.
There may be wear on the hair so it may even go AU.

The only way you could recover your money would be if you got a FBL designation, and thats an unlikely gamble.
This is coming from a guy who is not a fan of slabbing anyway, so lets see what the rest of the crowd says.

Yeah iono why the scanner cant pick up all of this coin, maybe the lines are too fine :/ He does not have a bald spot either like it looks in the pic. That area is a tad worn compared to the rest of his hair, but all the lines are still there and visible to the naked eye. Kinda like how the last bell line looks like its mostly not there in the pic, but looking at the coin its thinner but its definitely there.

Looks like the bell lines have several small points where they are incomplete. It has a lot of small contact marks and appears lightly circulated. Based on these images I'd say you have a nice AU coin with a good strike but it falls short of FBL.

Would concur with what most have already offered ... save your money. It's a nice example (not quite FBL). The 49-D's were hammered strikes. Most examples in this grade show this level of detail.
