Is this ok or no? I have a gold coin that has something gooey on it. is it ok to dip in acetone?

Use pure acetone in a glass container to soak and rinse with more acetone. Cover your container with foil to reduce evaporation and avoid fumes and ignition sources. No hazard to the coin unless you rub it or cause scratches during the process.

How about some before and after photos?
