I know the silver versions of these, especially the 1999/first year are going for a premium. So, I bought the silver set for my state/year only. The U.S. Mint actually made money off this, which is great, I foresaw and collected quite a few first and second year of the series, and the silver sets are still selling right out.

I lost interest in this series for like 6 years completely, then I bought the S clad set just recently and plan on framing them and putting them up on the wall of my home so people can see that whole collection together. Right now, I think you can buy the entire silver set of these for about $500 and they are common ebay.

If anyone can chip in to make this thread sound great, feel free.

Shame that the Silver Set for the ATB's won't be a repeat....

It's not "new" now, though, like the 50 State Qtrs were, so it's understandable "why".

I think the designs for the ATB's are much better overall than the "State" qtrs. were regardless.

But as usual, with the Mint, it's all overproduced and overpriced, so original "issue" price, could just be the best price most of these ever see !

I think what made the 1999 so popular is the first year either most people didn't know about them or just weren't interested in them at all until they saw their home state on a quarter and that is when they started trying to put a whole set together and they needed that first year of series to complete the set and since they weren't all that popular there weren't allot of sets to go around. You had a choice collect what you could get out of pocket change and put them in the 50 state folder thingy, collect the clad versions that were the same composition as the pocket change for a premium or collect the silver sets which was a little different than the pocket change pieces because their composition was different and it was more than just a different mint mark from the ones you saw everyday

I already framed one of those maps and put it up, looks pretty cool, so many to pick from right now still. I noticed on ebay someone has the poor mans Statehood Quarter collection you can get, so you can put together an album pretty darn cheap right now.

These coins were hoarded it seems, and only in the last years or so I guess I've noticed more and more of them coming into circulation, which helped renew my interest in them.

So now I've got two complete sets of them, and working on three others...
