Has any body had any experience/comments about a new coin album simply called coin collecting album. sellers claims similar quality to Dansco albums for $30 at a fraction the price.

example, 8 page album with slides, $5

I have wondered the same exact thing.
I have seen these albums on this site and would also be interested in buying.
Some of them are a huge difference in price compared to danscos, and for sets that I might not be able, or as serious about buying, I have considered getting this album.
Is it any good though? That is the question still

Seems risky to me. I'd stick with proven albums.

The linked page says:

The Coin Collector albums have clear acetate slides that cover each side of the coin making both the obverse and reverse visible. The Coin Collector albums do not contain PVC.

Wouldn't this make it as safe as a Dansco?

I think coins in these albums look great, but I do not believe any normal album, no matter who makes it, can be totally safe if you live someplace where humidity is high. Some web-homework finds people saying in the SW States, that these albums can be had for a long time with no toning effect.

If you do any reading of "Intercept" coin albums, holders, etc. they make an interesting statement that although toned coins are pretty now, they are in the process of oxidizing and turning black. I have a feeling that one day mint state, mint luster coins will hold a premium.

The 2X2 holders seem the only way to economically store a large number of coins where they will not contact anything hydrophilic in nature.

Hopefully someone on this forum will try one of those and give us all a report. For that price it could well become the Album of the future.

I have been using "The coin collector" albums for 3 years. I have total of 3 albums - "Lincoln Cents", 'Jefferson Nickels", and " Statehood Quarters P&D". I would say the coins look great in those dark green albums. They fit well in to the slots and haven't experienced any toning yet (I hope it will keep them that way).

I haven't had any experience with other albums. So, I can not compare.

I am considering buying Dansco 7070 album and will decide whether to stick with "The coin collector" or switch to Dansco.
