Dave directed me to the thread on the MS66 Dimple Morgan that sold for $100, which was apparently an incredible bargain. This coin below from my favorite website (which I am sure many of you are tired of hearing about). It is graded as an MS64 and sells for $105 (with free shipping ). Would this be considered a great deal? Edited by JeffMo 12/10/2006 01:09 am

The latest Greysheet I have lists a 1878-S lists a MS-64 (not saying that is what this coin is because I cant see the coin well enough to make a judgment) worth $82.00 but I have paid around 90 to 100 for them graded by PCGS in MS-64 condition

I've been told to watch out for ebay. Does this dealer have a website?

Thanks Bryan. The Greysheet isn't what I base my assessments on. I like to make comparisons to other coin sites.
I could also get an 1878-S Morgan graded at AU58 for $38, or an 1878-S Morgan, 2nd Reverse, MS63 for $55, or MS63 3rd Reverse for $43. These seem like big price drops for coins with slightly less quality than the MS64. Do these sound like really good deals?

Jeff, He has an actual coin store about 90 miles from where I live and he also sells on ebay.I have been buying from him for a couple years and have never had a problem. In fact I have made a good profit off some of his coins. He charges $4 for shipping and that includes insurance. He always has one to two hundred Morgans for sale, graded and ungraded. If your interested PM me I will send you the link. If not no problamo.

Jeff, Those prices are pretty close to normal. The 1878-S takes a big drop in value (around 50%) from MS64 to MS63 as a number of the Morgans do.
