I think that a
Dryer Coin can also be a coin, typically a quarter or dime, that is used in a laundromat repeatedly (given out in change over and over) and gradually wears down on the edges from going through the coin slots many times. So it loses its reeding on the edge, loses a very little diameter, but retains a lot of its details.
I think it probably lost a little metal to corrosion on the beach.
