I live in a very old Pennsylvania town, which is infamous for it's crockery industry and before that, it's glass making. These were both recovered within 3 feet or so of each other, perhaps 200 yards from the site of the oldest glass making plant in America.
Given that they both bear the date 1830 suggests to me that they may well have been dropped when new, by an immigrant glass blower.
I am probably the first person to handle these in 180 years.
