Thought this was an interesting location for a lamination error, perhaps a bit morbid. Correct me if you believe it to be PMD. Just thought I'd share. Found it roll searching.

I believe what you are seeing is a layer of corrosion flaking off. Note the area around the "flaking" has no details to it due to being covered with corrosion.

The coin is affected by severe corrosion. That FIDO book is hopelessly out of date(1969 publication) and filled with inaccuracies and misinformation. It is just as bad as Frank Spadone's discredited "error" book
