This is a coin I originally submitted to this forum with a couple of poor quality photos. I think you guys did an excellent job of grading them despite my poor photography. These pictures taken by CGS are a lot clearer, so I thought I'd resubmit to the forum to see if the consensus is still the same.

Looks alright. You can tell it's been circulated. some nicks on the rev on obv..scratch across the cheeck quite noticeable. And I don't know if it's the light but theres something white between the I and the B in Liberty. Overall AU58 IMO. just can't put it in MS grade because of all the nicks and the scratch. sry man! other then that nice coin. Loves me sum gold!

-on a side note this is the first time I've seen this version of lady liberty and I must say..didn't anyone find it offensive back in the day for a white women to be wearing an Indian head dress? or is it just me? I would've thought everyone at the time wouldve been outraged! lol
Rest in Peace

The coin design was done by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, considered by many the greatest of modern sculptors of the time. Another note, the edge of the piece where 46 raised stars and 48 stars in 1912 and later. ( representing each of the states )
Great coin! I would not be offended especially if I had one.
Reading the previous post let me say to CCF. I'm new to and this is my first welcome to a member.

Thanks for the posts and the welcome. The coin grade from CGS was EF65, which is a on a hundred point scale. So I guess that between AU55 and AU58 is about right. Many thanks.

People only worried about "real" problems back then. They didn't have the idle time to sit around and dream up things to "pretend" offended them ... so that trial lawyers could sue and get them a big bunch of money.

It was a different time, and a different thought process. It was every man for himself. No government hand-out programs ... no federal income tax to "redistribute" to the less fortunate among us.

Somehow, we not only survived with that way of thinking, but prospered, and became (arguably) the greatest free nation on the face of the planet because of our values and not in spite of them.

Sorry if the analysis and dissertation a little politically charged. Historically, it's factual ... that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
