Quote: Story? Anyone? Story? Quote: Ummm, story? It really is a nice coin. Have I asked about the story lately? Actually, it's pretty simple. After trying REPEATEDLY (and unsuccessfully!) to stumble-buy a 1916 SLQ through the "Dateless SLQ Lot" method on ebay, I went directly to the source: Johnny "Countdown" aka, the "1916 SLQ "Whisperer". He took pity on me, found a nice one on ebay, bid & won it, and then, was so generous, he offered it to me. I leaped on it like a bug on a zapper. He is my new favorite person! I am now one of the lucky 52,000 (or less) owners of a 1916 SLQ.

Amazing how Johnny keeps pulling them out, isn't it? He should have a very nice retirement at this rate. All I can find is junk.

lol. thanks for the compliments you guys! To be honest though, I'm certainly not the only dateless 16 "whisperer" out there. When one is spotted, there are some other heavy hitters jumping in, and I have been outbid on several others. I didnt get this one for melt, or anywhere close. There definitely isn't any shortage of demand for these dateless wonders...lol. That PCGS PO1 example just brought $1140! I've even seen a very strong P01 go for as high as $1600, which was nuts! Moes example is stronger detail wise then any of the 3 ANACS FR2 examples I've found, so I'm certain it's a strong 2 by ANACS standards anyways. If it werent for those rim cuts, but it's still a nice looking coin in hand. I really like the crescent tone, it has a very original crusty appearance. Hopefully you will like it in hand Moe!
