Couldn't resist this one and was able to work out a trade. What do you think? What grade would you give her? I'll post grade later.

I am thinking Fine, but I am not too familiar with this series.

I think you have a Beautiful coin! I would guess they gave F-15 even though there seems to be some light hairlines on the obverse.

Good eye appeal! I'll guess F12-15.

Clearly wiped; frankly, if PCGS graded it rather than "Genuine," my confidence in them is reduced. Would I own it? Oh, heck yes.

Yeah, I'm with Super. I think it has had a wipe in the past. Having said that, I believe it's in a PCGS F12 holder. I really like it. Very nice eye appeal!

I too would go VG with details, cleaned. And SO WHAT! LOL That is a nice coin. I would take it in a heartbeat.

One of the nicest I've seen very rare to see any wing detail even on F-15 graded pieces.
Hence, I'm going to say PCGS will market grade this as VF-20.
Not entirely problem free but for a 1795 it is in tremendous shape doubt they would bag it for cleaning.

Really? You think PCGS would go for it fenton? If that's the case, send that baby in! It may be worth a shot. ICG is surely likely to give it a strong grade if PCGS won't.
That's an awesome coin. I'd sure love to have an early half or dollar for my collection.
This looks like the kind of coin that might benefit from some "assistance" toning, am I right? Not artificial, mind you, but this might be one of those windowsill coins, no? (If you're in a neighborhood such that setting this coin on a second story windowsill won't be a dangerous prospect, that is...)

Light hairlines on a 1795 are no big deal usually coins from that era have really bad surface issues.
Strike is almost always terrible on these so weak details does not mean the coin has seen heavy wear.

I'm with Fenton. If it has been cleaned, it's very light and doesn't deter from the eye appeal and original look of the coin.

Yes... F-15 it is. Should have mentioned this was graded by ICG. My dealer uses them a great deal since they are local. I appreciate all the input and feedback. I thought it had a lot of wing detail as well for an F-15, but IMO the Observe holds it back a bit. I suspect an old light clean or wipe was in it's past. It's hard to imagine it hasn't had one in the last 200+ years. Ryan- I may try your suggestion. How long does it take before you start seeing the toning? Consider myself extremely lucky since this one and 1799 Silver Dollar I picked up a few weeks ago were both type coins on my "wish" list for one day.... Never thought it would be sooner rather than later. The timing has been right for me in that I've recently shifted my coin collecting interest away from completing sets and consolidating my collection with what I consider "better" pieces, which has been much more satisfying for me. I continue to learn a great deal from the forum and all of you. Thank you everyone for sharing your insight!
