Silver content of Franklin and Walking Liberty halves is identical and common dates in circulated grade are priced very close to their "melt" or bullion content value. If you traded two Franklins for this I'd say you "paid" about twice what it was worth.
At my local coin shop you can buy a Walker like this one for about $16 plus tax. They will buy silver half dollars for about $13.50 each.
