Hi...I am new to your forum so please excuse any mistakes

Chinese-Junk-Coin

Chinese-Junk-Coin. I have been collecting domestic coins for years but have no experience with foreign coins. I came across this coin along with many other old foreign coins in an estate that I purchased. I believe that it is a Chinese Junk but have been unable to find a match. Any help that you can offer concerning type, date, silver content, value or other pertinent info. would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Junk dollar - more like junk coin.

It's a fantasy coin that counterfeiters have too much time.

The portrait is Dr. Sun Yat-sen.

The inscription on the obverse translates as "Republic of China 18th Year" which would be the year 1929.

The denomination on the reverse is "one yuan" ("one dollar").

The coin is a trial piece and is extremely rare. I believe there is only one authentic specimen known to exist and it is valued at more than $1,000,000.

Your coin appears to be much too crudely made to be "real". There are many "fakes" of this coin.

The authentic silver coin is extremely well-made, has a diameter of 38 mm and a weight of 27 g.

(My 200th post)

If that could be a real one, I wouldn't call it a junk coin.
