How often do you see this? (the white corners are from rotating the pictures and cropping)

Wow! Packaging errors with the large coins are quite scarce. Curiously the only such error that's fairly common is the same date; '80-D. Many of these come with a second D quarter where the Denver SBA should be. Which is rather ironnic that even the mint couldn't tell them apart. ;) '80-D half dollars almosty always have a shallow scrape on the reverse, obverse, or both. I would very carefully check these if either appear gem.
Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.

Was it supposed to come with the two SBA's as well? Didn't they fill in the extra space with a token then?

There were no tokens in the '73 to '81 sets due to lack of room caused by inclusion of the one dollar coins. The '80-D packet is supposed to hold a Denver and San Francisco SBA.

Very nice! The rare example of a set that I would not want to bust open.

Wonder what the premium would be on this set due to the error ?

Quote: 50 cents? Good call. Quote: The rare example of a set that I would not want to bust open. So you're the one? With enough handling, they might bust themselves out. There is a slight tear in the cello between the Double D's and the Sue B "S" cells.

Don't underestimate the ebay crowd. You might get a couple bidders to go crazy for it and get a good premium that you wouldn't get elsewhere.

Quote:Was it supposed to come with the two SBA's as well? Didn't they fill in the extra space with a token then? There were three SBA's in the 1980 set. You will find that one of those SBA's is a D and the other is an S.
