Its getting on time to start liquidizing my assets ready for the big Houston Show in Dec I have high hopes of actually being in town for it this year. Anyway back to the Morgans. Any Vamers here care to give these a once over? Most of them have problems and I suspect they will make around melt or a few cents over. But there may be something special in the lot VAM wise. If you see anything out of the ordinary please let me know and if you are interested in it tell me as well and I'll put it up in the auction section starting at face. Failing that can anyone tell me what I can expect to get per roll of this kind of coin. Thank you for your time oops first coin is one of those special Peace Morgans coin1 Coin2 Coin3 Coin 4 Coin 5 Coin 6 Coin 7 Coin 8 Coin 9 Edited by nohope587 09/18/2011 4:35 pm

Nothing shows up on my radar. Check the 1921-P's for Wide Reeding - it will be noticeably wider than the mintmarked 1921's if present - and that'll complete the diagnosis.
The Wide Reeds will be value-added coins.

Thanks SuperDave I thought they were all common but wanted to check. Coin 7 has some doubling at 12 on the Obv and a nice die crack..

Oooh. Hold coin 7. I missed the features as they're somewhat washed-out - it's a Pitted Reverse, VAM-3C.
Not a huge value add - they're available in Mint State - but I think I'd like to take it off your hands.

No assurance needed SuperDave it sells for what it sells for. My records indicate I paid pretty close to melt for it quite a while back..

Ah. Even at melt, then, you'll be fine. The premium for this VAM in circulated condition would only be a few bucks, anyways.

You might want to take a closer look at coin #8 also, the 1900-O. Given the wear and PMD on the coin, not sure if there is a rim Cud below the date, or just PMD. If it is a rim Cud, sure looks like it enters the field. Try V23A, maybe LDS. If it is an unlisted rim Cud, somebody will take it off your hands for a premium.

I Honestly can't tell if its damage or Cud there is no measurable difference in the thickness of the coin. There is the remains of a die crack through United and what could be a die polish mark on the wing that matches the one in the first picture of the VAM site for 23A

The V23A is listed with a partial rim Cud, partial meaning it does not enter the field. If you have the time, money and energy to send it to an expert, it might be worth it if it turns out to be an unlisted rim Cud for the V23A. "Unlisted rim Cud" means one that actually enters the field. Otherwise, throw it up on the auction site and maybe someone will take a chance on it. Not me of course, but there might be a few that would take the risk for a modest premium.

NoHope how did you take your pictures? What camera do you use?
Also how do you post such his resolution photos? When I try on the forums it says they must be under 100kb.

I'm still learning how to use it especially on silver coins These images have been reduced significantly from the original resolution. I host the pictures on my own site and link them here.
