Hello all,
I am filling out an NGC submission form and have a few questions that they don't answer in the instructions:
1) in the coin listing section (8) they have a column marked MS or PF. Do they want just those 2 letters or are we supp to actually put a # after it, like MS-62, etc? 2) In section 9 they have a charge marked $8 handling, but it says, "when applicable". I assume this applies to anyone shipping through the mail? 3) Does it matter if the flip has a piece of cardboard in it or should I leave them out? I know this sounds silly but the grading services are sticklers for having their instructions followed perfectly. thanks........mdh

1) Just the two letters. 2) The "Handling Charge" applies to all grading submissions; it's other types of submissions which lack that charge. 3) Just in case, lose the cardboard. Of course, make sure the flips are non-PVC.

If you joined as a premium member, NGC should send you a package along with flips and forms and a five free submission coupon.

Good luck with your submissions. Just a couple more things to remember. Number each flip with the number that corresponds with the line number on the form. I use an indelible marker and make sure it's good and dry before I put the coin inside. Also, I like to loosely rubber band the coins together in their slips to keep them secure. Once again - Good luck!

How "stiff" are your flips? The softer, more pliable they are, the more likely PVC is involved.

ngc sent me the pkg with the coupon but no flips......and I just did a flame test on a flip and they do have some pvc in them. My dealer is abt 30 miles away, so they are going to have to go as-is. you guys don't supp they will kick them back for this, do you?
I'm starting to feel sorry already and I haven't even sent the coins!
thanks to all for the input, btw. I've got 4 nice slqs I've wanted to slab and am just now getting around to it.

SLQ?! #(!@!$ Capital letters --> MAKE SURE THEY HAVE COMPLETE DATES! I learned the hard way. If they only have a partial date (three or less digits visible) send them to ANACS. NGC WILL NOT grade partial date SLQ's....

LOL....i understand. these are all high end, at least au (or so the anacs grading book says). I certainly hope I don't get any surprises like others (and myself) have gotten in the past.

If you sent it Registered Mail, it will/should take around five days to get there...

the PO tried to deliver yesterday but since it's a PO Box they just picked it up today....literally changed on the PO website 10 mins ago.
Maybe I'm just impatient and a worry wart. Actually, not maybe but apparently.
I'm dying to see how they grade these coins.......literally thinking about it most of the day.
