i have a group of fatman chinese silver dollars. I am having trouble figuring out the variations that I have and what they are worth. I do not want to sell something rare for the price of a cheaper one if that makes sense. the strangest one is a 23.7 gram fatman with year markings I dont recognize, it is my second picture below. this coin has vertical reeding and a small magnet didnt stick to it. any idea what kinds of variations I have? is the one coin a forgery, and if so could it be worth anything? I know the years of the coins except the one, I just need to know how to figure out where the coins were made. please help? thanks in advance!

and also, what is more rare, the 1920 fatman or the 1921, or does it depend on the varition. thanks

Beware, there are lots of fakes of this particular coin.
Magnet is an easy test, but not the only one - and from your picture I cannot figure out if they are fine or not.

If your camera have a macro setting, use that to shoot the pictures again.

Also, pictures of the reverses that should follow the obverse you have.

The date on the coin is "8th year" (å.«å¹´) of the Republic which would be 1919.

However, I only see six Chinese characters. Only coins dated 1914 (3rd year) had six characters. All the year 1919 coins should have seven characters.

Also, an authentic 1919 coin should weigh about 26.8 grams so your coin is much too light.

Even though the image is too blurred to make out other details, I think we can reasonably conclude that it is a fake.

I have posted very good pictures under my repost of the earlier question. please take a look and tell me what variations you think I have, as far as gansu mint etc. I see 2 variations of the 1914 silver fatman. so please someone help as far as value on these coins so I know which ones to keep for myself. thanks

thank you for helping me with the coin that was a forgery. I was wondering if it could have any value. is it possible it is one of the desired forgeries from the time period? and as far as the other coins, if you could identify the year and type of variation for them, I will post better pictures within the hour maybe sooner. I will photograph the obverse, reverse, and get a shot of the reeding on it. so each set of three pictures is one coin. ill have them on shortly. and thanks for all who are helping me! someday ill know enough to help you guys maybe?
