What do you think this coins grade is? How much would you pay for it? There is a little bit of toning and traces of copper color that didn't come through on the scan.

This is my first time scanning a coin, and my first grading request so feel free to comment on how I could do it better.

Edit: The scanner did a poor job of showing the details so I have replaced that picture with a new one Still not entirely happy with it but it is much better than the old one.

This one is hard to grade, either due to the scan itself or the way post-processing softened up details. Mint surfaces appear blurred.

I agree with DV, looks almost blurry, but it's not? From what I can tell, it appears to be around MS64, fields look very clean, but I think better pics would be needed to get an accurate grade.

That's why I won't attempt to grade it at this time. Looks nice though

Nice coin but, a pic would be better for grading.

Thanks for the comments so far. I have replaced the picture with a (hopefully) better one.

Is that damage behind and under the eye or is that just minor hits?
Nice coin either way MS 63

It's a pretty coin--obviously MS.

It's a lovely-looking coin. It's hard to assess it's technical strength off these pics. I'd think the color could reasonably get it to a market grade of MS-64.

Better pics ;-)

I am going to say MS63RB. Not enough red for a full RD designation IMO. It's a pretty coin!

Don't have my CDN in front of me but Numismedia calls a 63RB $89

vermontensium: The lighting makes it seem redder than it really is. Although you can see hints of red, I don't think it would rate a RB, especially on the front.

upstate: I think what you are referring to is just a discoloration on the coin. There are some bag marks on the coin but they don't really show up in the picture.

I bought this coin as AU for $20, but I really don't see signs of wear. Maybe they downgraded it because of the discoloration on the cheek? Who knows. I'm pleased with it.

Thanks everyone for your input. I think I'll spend a bit more time learning how to photograph these things.
