I'm thinking of getting some variety coin books on IHCs, Buffalos nickels and Mercury dimes.
On Whitmans website they have the 2nd edtion of IHC and FECs by Snow, and the Bower series of Buffalo/Jeeferson nickels.
Are these books recommended by any of you?
I'm looking for books that give a very in depth study of patterns and varieties per coin type.

I don't know about the others, but the Snow book on IHCs is by far the best and most complete I've come across. I have the cummulative volume for FEs and IHCs. It lists each variety for each year and give identifying information and rarity. I love the book. The downside is that it's expensive, about $100.

That one is an overview Rick Snow wrote on the FE and IHCs. It contains some good info, but it's not a complete guide to varieties for each year. You can find those guides here.
