Hey guys I am currently making a program to document coin collections. It is still in it's infancy but I thought I would explain the details of it to you to gather opinions on it.

1) There will be no lists of coin types and countries to choose from when adding a new coin. Rather, there will be a data field where you can enter all of the informaton of the coin. Date, country, denomination, composition, picture, you name it. It will be completely 100% customizable on a coin-to-coin level.

2) You can view your collection in an Excel-type format. There will be a drop-down menu to choose a specific country/empire so you can view only their coins, or you can have an overview of your entire collection.

3) Each coin will have a 'view coin' option for it. When this button is selected a profile for the coin will appear. The country name will be displayed at the top of the page and underneath that the image you uploaded for it will appear. Below that the rest of the coins details will be displayed.

4) There will be a 'print report' icon in each coin profile that will print out a page that mirrors the coin profile. This will be particularly useful for those who sell coins so you may mail the detailed report to the buyer with the coin (making it so you don't have to make one yourself).

5) In order to protect all of this information, a user name and password will be required to run the program from startup.

6) Each coin profile will be able to be edited or deleted.

Please provide feedback and suggestions so that I may make this program even more useful and user-friendly! I anticipate it to be nearing completion sometime this coming spring. Thank you!

Interesting!
Sounds pretty good to me, and also general. I like it that we can put whatever we want in whatever category. Sounds useful.
