Where To Buy Flat Stapler & Flat Staples?

I use regular staples, a (red) Swingline stapler and a pair of needle nose pliers. The stapler does a very good job of curving the pointy ends inward, and then I just squash them with the pliers. The pointy part gets buried in the cardboard out of harm's way. I don't like flat staples, because they don't actually quite lay flat, so the pointy end can hang out there a bit.

I bought a flat-clinch stapler at my local stationers for $9 about 3 years ago.
It works like a dream, as long as I use it on a stable surface.
Much better than playing with pliers; AND it really does flatten 'em.

I have two of these from Staples. They work great and sometimes you can get them on sale for less. Just have to look around.

and then there is always the self-adhesive 2x2, no staples - flat, pointed, rounded or otherwise to worry about

I forgot to mention, in my earlier reply, that there is no such thing as a flat staple: the final shape is determined by the clinch, which might be described as the "jaws" of the stapler.

Next time I buy staples, I am going to look for stainless steel: I don't want rust anywhere near my oins.

As for the debate about self-adhesive 2x2: there are several previous threads on CCF about this.
Self-adhesives are more expensive, and when the adhesive "lets go" they don't seem like a good investment.
... And, sooner or later, they all let go.

I bought a low power stapler from Target, a Power Ease, last year as the one I had just did not have the strength to push through a 2x2 very well and I would end up with the ends sticking out. I paid under $10 and it works great 100% of the time.

That's the one I have, but I think its discontinued, or out of production.
