I got the proof, it is beautiful, but being a Morgan collector, it looks cartoonish to me.

In my personal opinion. The reason the proof Silver Dollar Reverse looks cartoonish is as we collect Morgan silver dollars We are not used to seeing Proof Morgans in this kind of Proof Condition due to the fact that they did not have the methods of Striking proof Morgan silver dollars as we do now. Does anyone agree? Eric Image: 9ceb_1.jpg.jpg38.35 KB Image: 99bc_1.jpg.jpg28.18 KB

The eagle is too skinny, and the lettering is too fat.... All IMHO of course..... MM

Yeah that's true. But its nice to see this classic coin design in Proof Condition.

The use of the Morgan reverse is the reason I bought the coin. I see it as tribute to the original and an acknowledgement of how beautiful the design is, even all these years later. The same holds true for the Walker design on the ASE and the Saint design on the AGE. It's a great way to keep our history alive. I would love to see the mint continue to "recycle" the old classic designs on modern bullion and commemorative issues.

I have to agree with you about that too. It's nice to see older coin designs brought back to modern US coinage. Eric
