Hi,

I am fairly new to all of this and not even sure if I have it right. Also, I am Canadian, with little knowledge of USA coins.

I (think) I am attaching pics of the two sides of a 1940S coin. It appears to be silver in colour. I believe that was not common for this year. I scraped the edge of the coin to be sure it was not pain or a coating.

It is also not magnetic. I am guessing it might be silver or possibly some form of nickel. Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Terry

FYI, I did a little photoshop work to enhance details. It physically looks like an old silver coin. It is pretty beat up.

Yup...the weight is going to tell you whether it's anything worth saving.

According to my Canadian postage scale it is 4 grams. Not sure if that is accurate enough?
