Did I find a Wide AM? 'twould be my first -- in the wild or otherwise.

Other than the fact that this cent is trash due to corrosion, does it have any numismatic value IF it is indeed a Wide AM? Thanks guys.

Reverse:

1998-Wide-AM?

The obverse looks just as horrific as the reverse, unfortunately. (in part due to my photography "skills")

I believe it is a WAM but it's hard to tell from this angle.

sorry... 5-year-old point-and-shoot camera and terrible lighting. Oh yeah, and the photographer probably leaves something to be desired as well.

Definitely a WAM. As to value, is it one people will be beating a path to your door for? No. Is it worth more than one cent? Yes. What is it actually worth? It is worth whatever someone is willing to pay you for it. Not being a smart alleck, just that in that condition it is hard to pinpoint an exact value.

Definately a WAM! Nice find!

The verdigris looks fairly light, it could be conserved.

Thanks, guys! The box of cents I was going through was not producing much (<10% copper and 1 wheatie with only 5 rolls to go, bleah) until I noticed that little guy.

I completely understand.

I'm sure there are plenty of threads on conservation, but any immediate suggestions (or links to good threads)?

Nice find! It's a great feeling to find your very first WAM. I certainly know; I was ecstatic when I found my first (and only one so far), a red 2000. Congrats!

Thanks, captainfwiffo, SHAFTA9a, unholyroller, googoo, BadThad, and JangoFett. :)

I'm going to buy a bottle of Verdigris tonight and see how it turns out! Will post pics in a week or two with results.
