Looks like a bag mark/machine doubling on the mint mark. Don't you just hate it when your heart starts pounding and you think you found something? But it happens.

It's alright if this is not one found 3 varieties this week so its to to bad. with still 1000's of coins to go though.

I'm not saying you're wrong. Just need to learn.

I though on Machine Doubling it was layered Main D would be where it needs to be and the other D would be closer to the surface.

Bag mark you saying that another coin or something hit the D and made the mark and moved the D. Correct?

Your third line keeps giving me a head ache when I read it. LOL
Note the shape of the mint mark on your coin? Here are a couple of die varieties in an image:

The mint mark is normal in shape on your coin. But note how the OM shapes on the image provided show that the doubling is outside of the normal mint mark. Not on top of the mint mark.

Bag marks can happen in the mint bags/bins/circulation. The term designates contact with another coin after striking.

The mention of Machine Doubling was because the shape of the area in question seems to be uniform with the mint mark punching. But with way it in not a RPM.

Sorry about my 3rd line =)

I did think it was weird if it was a RPM that only that corner showed up.

Thanks for all the info.

The only way we learn is to ask. It took me a while to learn that myself. I had a great teacher and he was ROTFLHAO many times. LOL

Even if it were a D/D that would be a repunched mintmark which is a die variety - not an error.

Your coin has a blunt hit on the mintmark giving you the illusion of two mintmark punches.
