Here are a few 2005 50 cent coins I just found. The first one has a small blob on the back of the queens hair. The second one has a small blob on top of the soldiers helmet. The third one has the blob on the bottom of the guys robe. There are probably more than a few of these around, since I found 10 in one go. I wonder how much they are worth?

they're called Cuds: 2005 was a prolific year for Cuds.
So, I doubt that they're worth a lot:
there's plenty of'em; and anyone who wants one, will find one very soon.

Be on the lookout for ones that have 3 Cuds all on one coin:
Soldiers' Helmet
On the point of his left elbow
Bottom of Priest's Robe

Another small Cud that can be found on the WWII 2005 50c reverse is on the Nurse's neck, but it can be difficult to spot. I've got a couple somewhere, but no pictures yet, so I can't show you what to look for. I'll see if I can find one and scan it in the next few days.

If anyone else has piccies of this Cud, please post them.

Thank you Peter - Cud sounds better than blob ;) Nancy I didn't know about the one on the elbow - I shall go back and have a look through. Just had a quick look at a few and have found two with two Cuds on each. One has the Cud on elbow & queens hair, the other has the Cud on the soldiers elbow and his hat.

I keep all my robe Cuds. I keep them hoping that one day I will be able to prodcus a few pictutres of how the Cud grew from a small one to a big one. I altready have a number of different sized Cuds. The multiple Cuds are a lot harder to get. I think I have only one or maybe two helmet Cuds.

Very good Idea Gecko. Over the years I have added to my list of collectables from the Australian coin and banknote mag, and now from this forum. There are way too many to look for. My floor has been completely covered in coins for days now. I have bagged them according to the year and denomination and go from there. It's alot of work, but fun! I even got myself a pair of cotton gloves as I hate the smell and grot it leaves on my hands (I'm a little bit of a germ phobe)!

After you've been noodling for a while, a lot of the errors you look for become easier to remember.

Trust me, I have a shocking memory, but I can remember heaps of errors and it seems to become like an inbuilt permanent subconscious thing that surfaces when you need the information.

I started making lists of all the errors I came across and kept the lists at hand when I noodled, but even although I haven't done any noodling at all this year, I'm pretty sure if I started again soon, I would not need any lists.
