I know some of you use ecrater for selling and some use for buying, maybe some do both. I've never used it before so I have a few questions.

On the selling side, do you like it? Is it easy to use and set up? Is it pretty user friendly when uploading pictures, writing descriptions and setting up the terms and conditions and such? Does it allow you to do combined shipping on multiple items before the buyer completes the checkout process? Also do you get automatic notifications when an item sells and also when checkout is completed? I know when things are free, sometimes you get what you pay for so I understand there may be some limitations but any info here would be appreciated.

On the buying side, do you guys find it easy to navigate around? What about the checkout process...is it pretty straightforward?

Any other feedback or likes/dislikes about the site would be welcome info. Thanks!

CoinHunter, go to my website and feel free to ask questions. The invoice is not a living document that can have discounts directly applied at checkout. Inexpensive items are marked with $0.75 S/H and it is cumulative. I offer a refund of S/H on orders over a specified ammount. They do have a S/H matrix that can be applied by assigning a weight to the coins and the postage is figured in that matter. If you can figure it out it may work satisfactorily but I don't know. If you turn on the inventory management button then paypal and googlecheckout orders will reduce the inventory automatically. Check or moneyorder invoices will not affect the inventory and you will have to address this manually. You have to charge the googlecheckout orders against the cardholder once he places the order. There is where I deduct any discounts. Paypal orders are simple also to reverse the S/H charges back to the buyer. Uploading pics is simple. I've been using 1MB pics and you can load 7 per coin I believe. You may want to research the S/H matrx, especially if you are puter savy. I suck at it so I chose to go the other route. Hope that helps. Send me an email if you want to talk on the phone. nlp

Thanks nlp. That was helpful. I'll start checking out in depth probably tomorrow and may hit you up on your offer if I have further questions. I'll look at that shipping matrix as well and see if I can make sense of it.

It's pretty easy to use. I haven't had a ton of orders (unlike nlp), so I mostly manage it manually. Pictures are easy to upland and editing is a snap. I do have Google Checkout set up, but many orders are through PayPal.

I copied nlp and use 0.75/coin for shipping and do adjust for CCF members and larger orders. I'm definitely not trying to make money on shipping, just cover costs.

Check out my site below.

nlp helped me get started ;-)
I really like it. I just made a sale an hour ago. Easy to use. I use photobucket for all my photo uploads. Be sure to accept all forms of payment as this will give potential buyers more choices. As nlp stated, checks and money orders do not X out any sales, so you will have to go into the admin tools to delete these sales. Also, make sure you promote your store by updating your search engines hits.

I have just started to use ecrater, and am putting items on and adding pictures and stuff and was wondering how do you organise items into A-Z order and year dates in order as when I add items they show up in any order, can you move them around?
I have figured out how to put them into "Categories tab" but that's about it so far.

Sorry to hijack the thread but I was looking at ecrater and I see an option to pay by money order. How is this possible? Do I have to ship the money order to the seller myself or it electronic?
