While hunting for half dollars, I've also been picking up "large dollars" from local banks whenever they happen to have them, and have slowly built up a small pile of them (only Ikes so far, unfortunately). The other day I found 300 at a local credit union. I didn't have a lot of cash on me at the time, so I only picked up 100, but that still means that stacking them on my desk is no longer an adequate storage solution.

I was going to order some wrappers so I could roll them up, but I don't need that many so it's a waste with shipping and everything, so I decided to make my own. Because of how they fit on the page, I went ahead and made some half-roll wrappers too to make the most of the space.

Just curious...why keep these? If they are average circulated Ike's, and not the silver ones why hold on to them? I'm just wondering if there is some reason to do this as I don't.

I haven't searched them for varieties yet. Also, you can sell them for a profit on ebay.

K thanks. The variety searching makes sense. What do they generally go for on ebay? Again, just curious because it seems like the EBay/Paypal fees would chew up just about any profit. I'm only saying this because local dealers sell them for $1.25/each here. Once ebay and Paypal take their cut, and you figure in your shipping materials and such, it doesn't seem like there would be much profit to be made unless they are going for significantly higher on ebay than they sell for at the shops here. Hopefully you are making a decent profit, but that's what I am curious about.

I haven't sold any yet, but they seem to go for $25-30 per roll.
Rest in Peace

That seems pretty good. The banks in my area NEVER have any Ikes (unless the tellers are keeping them for their friends and family.)
