Yes, there is a distinct P directly under the Queens portrait where the logo is found on the others. The image is of a 50 cent piece but the design and mintmark is the same. stevex6 Pillar of the Community 3352 Posts	Posted 10/10/2011 10:13 am Yah, that nasty "P" is probably the second worst thing that has ever happened to Canadian coins (the first being when they stopped minting them in "silver" Ag) ... => the "P" stands for multi-ply plated steel (they started making test coins in 1999 => 1999P) ... now pretty much all of our coins are made of steel (durable, but not a valuable metal) sigh Report this Post to the Staff
