My first Dansco was for Australian Florins. I used to keep my coins in them Horrible plastic coin pages. I now have 5 filled pre decimal albums and 5 part filled ones (every time I upgrade I put the old coin in another album) I also have 7 decimal albums for Aussie coins Nearly complete. I also have 4 Whitman albums for US coins 3 for the Kennedy and one for dimes. The Whitman albums seem to hold the coins better than the dansco's. A lot of my dansco's have bits of paper in them to hold the coin securly

I only have one, A 7113 for Jefferson nickels, bought it around this time last year I think. Wanted to build a set through roll searching. It's probably around 60% complete so far, but I've been slacking off the last couple of weeks.

Not sure which was the first one. I get all my Albums free from dealers and since most seam to get Whitman Albums, I have well over 100 or them. Not sure but I think I've got about 8 Dansco's and a few others. As an example at the last coin show I received 74 Folders and 12 Albums all free and all Whitman. Gave all the Folders away.

Next time you have too many don't forget us blokes down here I have just started on my US coin collection and the only albums I have are the 3 kennedy and the dime one. All of the other US coins are stacked away in 2x2s and plastic flips.

Then I looked at the possible postage to send someone them. Not sure if that's really worth the expense and possible problems. I did recently send some to a member in Egypt but that was easy since a someone from here was going there so just gave them to them. That is something I should look into though. People from where I'm at going to places where someone needs or wants them. I always wonder if others would just ask dealers at coin shows about what they do with Folders and Albums they get when they buy collections. Most I know throw them away.

Maybe next time.

My first two Dansco albums were bought at the same time in December 1984, the Eisenhower dollar and Kennedy half dollar albums. My Grandfather bought them for me when I was visiting for Christmas. I also got my Lincoln Cent album later that week.

Don't have to many right now though. My next coin show where I usually get them is the second week in Feb. At a coin show last Sunday I only got one Whitman and one Littleton Album.

I have three Dansco albums, all acquired within the past year. The first was a partly filled Lincoln Penny album bought at an estate auction. I liked the look of the book, and when the forum chatter was heavy with 7070 discussion, I decided to grab the cheapest one of those I could find on ebay, mostly just to organize some scattered pieces idling in cigar boxes. Now that challenging type display book has become somewhat of an obsession, with thirteen holes left to fill (not counting gold). My third was the ASE album, which I bought on a silver dip from my local bullion source, completely filled up through 2011. He charged for the coins and tossed the album in for free. Not sure how many more of these 'brownies' I will acquire, because, well. . . Quote: "The Whitman albums seem to hold the coins better than the dansco's." And the rest of my modest USA collection is housed in Whitmans. Plus I prefer the blue, which i-m-o looks better with silver coins. I will probably search out the albums Dansco makes that Whitman does not, such as for Australia and Great Britain. These do seem to show up rather infrequently on ebay, but usually are too pricey for my budget.

My first dansco album was the ASE but that was because I loved my morgan whitman album so my grandpa got me the ASE with the first three years. Then I got the 7070 a few years ago ( still not complete) this christmas I got the washington parks quarters album.

My first Dansco was the 7070... purchased because I needed a home for the 1798 Large Cent my grandpa gave me.
Before that, I had everything in Whitman folders - I realized the advantages of Danscos pretty quick after that and started a long (and not yet entirely complete) process of conversion.

For many years, I had my collection in 2x2's. When I went to Dansco, I went all out, and pretty much bought in bulk. Right now, I have book for each set, including proofs on the current sets.
