Nice set, Silverwolf.
I am trying to assemble the same, while set the limit of CAD 100 max for a coin. But I need the coins in the best condition (in my opinion) And basilica not in rush.
Someday will look for case and capsules from that set.

Quote: I paid 90$ total.. Wow, great find! When I search on ebay, so CAD 90 this is "starting price" for any one of these coins in good condition (well, except 1967, which found in the Mint sets).

You did really well, I would be elated with that price and those coins, with box and certificate.

You got a very good deal! What are your thoughts on the grades of each coin?

Quote: So basically, what will be max reasonable price for this? I did buy this from the mint and the coins were basically au 55 to ms 60. I was very disappointed that the mint would sell this set, if I can remember around the $400.00 mark for that grade of coins. I could of stopped the collection but I was hoping that the next coin would be better, but it wasn't so. After I finished the subscription I felt ripped off and so I put it up for sell and luckily someone took it off my hands for a little over what I paid for it.:) This set in my mind would sell for around $120.00 to $130.00 and not a penny more. John100 is probably right with his numbers. I was a little generous with mine. Added a few bucks more because of the case and serial #'s for the set.

I really don't understand this set. If someone were to purchase one of these coins from the mint, do they have anything in place that would stop them from buying a lower grade coin from a dealer for melt value and returning that coin to get their $60 back to keep the one the mint originally sent in a higher grade?

I believe the melt value of silver was substantially higher in 2012, when this thread was started but I think you could still find this set for much cheaper than the mint sold it. With that being said, I don't know what would stop someone from playing the old switcharoo trick. Perhaps someone that bought the set could chime in as to whether or not there is a sticker similar to the BoC $5/$10 gold hoard coins?

That thought did cross my mind. Not just to return to the RCM, but to resell on ebay at a discounted price. Either way... If it can be done...
