What your asking is very broad, as some coins are conditional rarities , for example a 1934 S Peace dollar is reasonable in circulated grades but st$$pid in high grades. While the key dates are considered the 1928 and 1921. Stop searching on the internet get the Red Book and make your own decision and list as to what is a key date.

In my opinion the 1996 W, 1982 no P, 2015 P reverse proof, and the 2015 W silver dimes should be added to the key dates for Roosevelt dimes.

I don't know how much I trust that list. In the Lincoln wheat series the 1909S is pretty much a key date also and in Peace dollars the 1921 and 1928 are the key dates.

@Slider23's list is arbitrary and superficial, lacking any reference to many established key dates.

This is posted in the Main forum, not the U.S. forum. Why does everyone assume the OP is talking only about U.S. coins?

Hfjacinto you are correct as the key dates for the Peace dollar should include the 1921 and 1928. I removed the other questionable Peace dollar key dates listed. I also added the 1909 S Lincoln Cent. Chopped Ttiumpas, I added your recommendations for the Roosevelt dimes. Before I posted the online list on CCF, I did make a couple of changes as I added the 1894 to Morgan, and the 1923 S to the Standing Liberty. I am open to making any changes to get a better list. One thing that I noticed from posting this from an online source, It is really difficult to put together a Key Date list without having collected the series as key dates sometimes are not just about mintage.

I'd also correct the Buffalo nickel portion . All that's listed sans the 26-s are varieties. 1913-S T-2 being the main key in any grade. 1924-S and 1921-S should also make the cut.

Is the 1909-S or 1908-S IHC more of a key date? Either way at least one of the two should surely qualify. The 1857 large cent is a key date within its type, not so much within the entire large cent series. Lumping all large cents into one listing automatically means a bias towards the (far lower mintage) earlier types. There are probably other similar examples of extreme lumping resulting in would-be key dates being overshadowed. AFAIK a few of the listed types (especially for quarters) are single-year types and don't have key dates, as such. I'm guessing the list ignores the 1933 Indian Head Eagle because they think it's too rare to qualify as a key date. I can see this being true for the 1933 Saint-Gaudens $20, but not the $10, which has several dozen surviving examples. (Also, if they thought that way they should have excluded the 1894-S Barber dime too.)

If you are making a list, I couldn't help but notice the 1799 large cent is missing. The 1836 reeded edge half dollar and the 1839 O half dollars are missing too.
Just goes to show the OP should make his own list, including the coins that he wants. It could be based on mintage, survival rates, conditional rarities, popular varieties, or all the above.
