Some interesting comments, what I'm getting out of it is: It would be OK for me to shoplift a few things from my favorite store because they make enough off me the rest of the year

Darnit!

No more grabbing a few peanuts at the grocery store to munch on while I do my shopping!

I edited this to remove my comments. I am a firm believer in freedom pf speech, as well as the freedom to be quiet on issues just the same.
I regret even posting an opinion.
I don't think deleting my post makes much of a difference either way in the whole picture anyway but I learned something about keeping my 2 cents to myself ( again ). Sorry.

No bank charges for eft transactions, so why should paypal? Imagine if you had to pay a fee everytime you paid a bill using online banking. How rediculous would that be?

Until recently, every single bank here in Australia did exactly that. There wasn't any point in "going somewhere else", because everywhere else charged transaction fees, too. Once one bank stopped doing it about a year ago, all the other banks were forced to follow suit.

if you don't like the fees do what you do with everything else you feel is overpriced, don't use it. I am sure if a store charges more than the store next to it that first store wouldn't do very much business but it still wouldn't be ok to go in there and help your self to a pack of gum every month just because you you find their store more convenient just like paypal is more convenient than money order or check

I suggest we archive these 52 pages as the deals are mostly ended and from now on use a filter or something as if the PP gift words together were some sort of cuss word.

Perhaps this is what should be done.
Moderators, why not put a halt to this and add a filter blocking "PP gift" and other variations of those words? A personal check might take a bit longer to process and clear, but at least the Community would be clean.

On my transactions the fee has been paid either the buyer or seller. It's a service being provided by PP. I just cannot understand why folks think they are entitled to things for free.

PP has been keeping track of ALL transactions and some have lost their PP accounts for using the work around so to say.

I do agree that the fees could be cut back further.

edit below
Wheezy,

Filtering is a mute point as PP already has the info they need. My 2 cents.

Perhaps there are some members here that could help create a CoinPal for use by members to totally avoid PayPal. Then, once it's successful, we can go in competition to PayPa and show them how it could be done and not rip people off.

I agree with this 100%. It reminds me of those that were complaining about banks charging fees for boxes when they weren't even account holders at said bank. Those that don't get it should start their own business and see how they feel when others abuse it for their own personal gain because that's exactly what is going on.

However to leave these comments on the boards for search engines to pick up on, is well, asking for trouble.

Trouble for who? Everyone is responsible for their actions. We are not going to field dozens of "censorship" and "freedom of speech" emails to protect those publicly skirting Paypal's rules. It up to them to do it, and up to them to deal with any repercussions.

If you're going remove your posts if someone disagrees with you, why post it in the first place? This is exactly one of the reasons we implemented a time limit on post edits, to prevent this type of behavior.

So, last post on this. Admin, why not post as your moderator name?
Even if it were Bobby or Susan, I respectfully ask that you use your user name, I would appreciate that.
I know most of the mods and I at least get along fine but I would like to know which one of you has to go out of your way to try and put me on the hot seat. I am not in trouble here very often.
I also ask where do you see that I removed my post because somebody disagreed with me?

Talk about censorship? What do you call it when you make things up like that? You are reading into something that is not there.

Look, I have been a good member here. I posted an opinion and deleted it later within the time span allowed. It was late, I was tired around 1:30 AM I guess and when I got up I thought I don't think that it was such a good idea to post in here. Like I said SORRY!
I regretted posting my opinion or input because it bothered me and the issue was bringing attention to the community as a whole. I care about CCF and many of the members I happen to have a lot of fun with.

I've seen some other members bullied around and manipulated into argument by staff here, they fell for the trap, and ultimately got kicked off.

I never got into the controversy, I had opinions on those posts too, but you are trying to get me mad aren't you. Well, I won't fall for it.

For those of you who are unaware, not only will they notify you of breaches in conduct by email, but they have been known to call you personally on the phone for a little chat.

I don't have a problem with the Paypal fee. It doesn't feel right to abuse the "gift" privileges.

Admin is Admin, you'll just have to accept it.

It was fairly obvious to me that your edit reflected the content of my reply, If I'm wrong, I apologize.

I will be awaiting proof of your allegations of bullying privately.

Well I updated my account. It now has no credit card. Since I usually only make large purchases $2000 plus I can only pay by paypal echeck. With that only being a $5 fee no matter how large the purchase it makes it a little more convenient for me and the seller. That way I still get all the protection of paypal.

I think PP is more parasitical than free market. When ebay demands PP usage in their auctions, it makes me go elsewhere to buy stuff.

Which is the correct response. If you do not agree with the fees, go elsewhere.

Personally I prefer to buy my coins with cash at a coin show. Not only are there no fees (free parking and entry as well) but there is often a significant discount. Not to mention the added bonus of having a coin in-hand before purchase.

I am not saying that my way is the best way, but it is my preferred way. I understand the hunt for an ebay bargain. It is okay, but it is their playground so you have to play by their rules.
