I don't think the date position is a match for VAM20. VAM20 is just a hair over 2 denticles and yours is 2-1/2 denticles.

What does denticles have to do with it I thought it was double date and lines in 86

See step one (the first illustration) to see what I mean by date position. http://www.coincommunity.com/us_mor...is-a-vam.asp Almost all attribution of Morgan dollars begins with the date and mint mark position.

I think you are being funny with us Coinman1974. We have given you the directions to figure out what VAM you have. Please follow the correct procedures on how to attribute that are found on the VAM attribution 101 page.

I looked at the page and all it told me was to check position of numbers first and for doubling

It can only be one VAM. There is only a list of 20-30 for that year. Click on every one of them and match your coin to the description on only one! It has to match every attribute listed for the VAM. I am pretty sure I gave you a list in your other post of the most likely VAMs for this coin.

I guess I never gave you a list of potential VAMs, it must have been another members question. Anyway, your coin should match one of the VAMs in the link above and only one.
