went through LCS and several online dealers, per oz the premium is above $3 nationwide.
what the heck is going on?

I was at a big coin show on Saturday (Jacksonville, FL.)and the dealers were telling me they didn't even bring their "bullion" aka junk silver because they have more in it than they can sell it for. I was going to pick up some but that didn't happen.

ive found that canadian silver is alot lower of a premium... just a thought

My LCS doesn't sit on it. His premiums are low because he moves it as fast as it comes in.
When I listen to LED ZEPPELIN...so do my neighbors...

I have about a kilo of World junk silver. It has come to me in small dribs and drabs as 'by catch', from large lots of coins. The only occasion I actually bought silver bullion as junk was a lot of 75 Mercury dimes at near spot, several years ago. I actually got three MS63 FB's from it, including a 1919, with a sharply struck obverse. |

What is an ounce of junk US silver anyway?

Canadian silver is a lot lower of a premium because it is mostly 80% silver (except the earlier stuff which is .925)

Or very cheap, depending on whether one acknowledges silver market manipulation or not.

Last week I bought USA Washington quarters and was charged $3.25 each. The seller told me that another buyer came in and bought all of his Canadian coins a couple days earlier. |

I picked up 32 Victoria five cent pieces for spot the other day, along with some other Canadian dimes and quarters. Plus some nice Panama silver coins.

My junk silver I picked up in the early 70's and 80's at local banks at cost. In searching half dollar and for that matter nickel and dime rolls you would readily find them. I would probably have around 200 troy ounces after melt. That was probably one of the smartest things I have ever done saving those. I know the price of silver is low now but I didn't sell them when the price was high. They say you should have gold and silver in your retirement portfolio and I at least have the silver. Always have been partial to silver anyway. I look at it this way whatever I sell it for I will make a profit...like money in the bank.
