Post some pics in a new thread and someone will let you know for sure. I'm not sure I could tell what caused it -- so I'd be interested in reading that thread. Report this Post to the Staff

Rackster Pillar of the Community United States 4809 Posts	Posted 12/10/2015 4:19 pm Folks come across a variety of coins/denominations with missing details. As noted, over-polishing the die is a main culprit as are grease impacted details. There are premiums for these coins where the missing details ae exaggerated, but for the most part, no premium. And to collect a premium, you have to find the right collector. Prices asked aren't what people are getting for these coins (Texas quarter). Some still fetch a decent premium though, but aligning the buyer with the coin is the trick. Report this Post to the Staff
