Furthermore, I also don't recall that RCM has ever deemed that anonymous people on forums or message boards be responsible for verbalizing Sell Outs on their behalf, particularly by people who often have a vested interest by profiting from that type of misinformation. if you have reason to believe what you say is fact and not just your opinion, then to gain credibility, you might urge RCM to update the incorrect information on their website.

wildflowerAB, why wouldn't you gain the credibility and urge RCM to update the incorrect information on their website to reflect this pysanka coin availability, as you insist.

@wildflowerAB, I could've said that I called RCM and asked them to mark pysanka coin as sold out, but I'm not going to lie - they did by themselves.

LOL! You're absolutely correct, the website indicates it now to be Sold Out.

So who bought them all?

I'm noticing that. I lost count of how many Northern Moonlight coins were sold. A whole lot of selling activity only since last July. I wonder if that's how big time flippers hope to stay under the CRA radar, by shifting their business from acct to acct.

Why not? It was about $4K and no purchase limit.

I wonder, are readers of this forum aware of what's known as "scarcity marketing"? If not, its how to motivate people to buy something they might not otherwise be interested in. Sometimes it's built upon the factor "if everyone else wants one, then I need it too". Other times its the desire to own something that others don't have. Often it results in owning something leading to the question "why the heck did I buy this?"

Or you can google it.....but it's always worthwhile to examine our personal buying motives while having an awareness to various sales tactics that may otherwise go without notice.

Just thought I'd mention it.

The 2016 PL error sets were my best sales of 2015 and 2016 combined.......paid 26 for them sold them for over 200 each....that's a good flip IMO......kept one for myself to add to my collection because I collect pl sets and the different varieties..

Good for you Solidifier! I was hoping my order would contain a set but no such luck. However I will be watching for one, now that the initial excitement has died down. I know everyone doesn't see value in packaging errors of uncirculated sets but I suppose it depends on whether one collects them or not. There was a time when they generated a lot of enthusiasm because the sets, easily purchased at Canada Post, were the first glimpse into the coinage of the year, particularly if there were changes.

Congrats for this!
This error added some spice into the standard set.
And also some dollars to the Canadian collectors.
I've been into 3 small POs, none of them heard about error or "Mint letter", all of them have 2 sets each and all 2016 dated Loonies.

Btw, hope we will not see on ebay smart sellers, listed 2015 Loonie in 2*2 holder and signed "Extracted from 2016 set".

I just noticed the first one out of the gate has been relisted, same seller, same serial number. Second thoughts, mistaken that it was one of a kind or read here comments pertaining to what kind of idiots would buy them...:-(

Packaging errors are what they are, when you know there are many more being discovered almost daily, it's not one of a kind, if the market keeps selling at around 200.00 that's it value, I was offered one at the CAND for 70.00 said no thanks, I guess I'm wrong on this one, it's still a far cry from the person who paid over 6000.00 for the so called last penny roll or 20,000 and 18000 for the first two 2005 non mag p penny. In today's crappy market you can buy really marvelous errors for around 500.00 but good luck to both buyers and sellers.

I can appreciate what you're saying John because you're not solely a NCLT collector. It was deragoatory comments that I noticed here and on another thread that smacks of, I'm going to use the word selfishness or jealousy because I can't think of anything better. Why -
If flippers of NCLT make $$$ it's worn as badge of merit. Nobody directly insults NCLT buyers over a single ebay sale who pay for way overpricedly NCLT (that will likely fall as fast as it rose.) In fact it's perceived as a good thing, a reason to buy NCLT so it will go up on price. A pat on the back, a grand hurray.

However most flippers do not buy Uncirculated Sets. If they had, the reaction toward an increase in value of the error sets would certainly have much different. A big double-standard is what I noticed, it seems to me.
