BLH1964, as far as I can see the only difference is the serial numbers on the slabs and the price on one of them. The language that ebay had pointed me to in my case was the "Listings are considered duplicates if they are for items that have no significant difference between them". In my case I even had different listing titles, they told me that it didn't matter because they believed the items in question were similar and thus in violation of the policy.

It may be a glitch in the "report item" page as it doesn't work for any item or any seller at the moment.

I truly don't understand the point of even wanting to report that... If you were a business owner, would you want someone trying to create a problem for you in a situation like this?

I agree that the policies should be equally applied to everyone. You don't agree with this policy though, so why are you subjecting someone else to that ridiculous policy? I would do the same thing he is doing and then, when they zap you, tell them about David Lawrence. Fight to get the policy overturned.

Well if I complain to ebay about it, they do nothing. If David Lawrence, or another high volume seller complains, they listen. But like I said, I'm not knocking Lawrence, I report these when I see them, because it ticks me off that ebay has regularly enforced the policy against me yet not against others (especially when its like 5 of the same coin like in this instance).

I would ask to speak with a supervisor at ebay if I ran into this issue and they were deleting my listings. For example: A non-coin person might think your listings were like 5 Apple iPad Pros with 5 different serial numbers and a violation of their multiple listing policy. Which that would be. But with entirely different coins they are not the same or even exactly equivalent items. They are entirely different items and do not violate policy. Again you have to move up the food chain at ebay. Also, you should be able to report the listing even if it's not a violation. Some browsers cause glitches with ebay reporting software. I just tried reporting one of these listings and Google Chrome hangs up but Internet Explorer works fine for me. I could have reported it as duplicate but did not of course.

I fail to see a problem selling the same type, date and grade coin as long as the individual coins are different with different cert numbers. There is Nothing unusual or wrong doing this. So why report this?

Waste of time.
No violation. End it.

This makes no sense to me. There are virtually hundreds of sellers on ebay that sell the exact same year/denomination/grade of coin but with different NGC or PCGS certifications because they are different coins. It's not like they are selling generic widgets using different auctions. I think the problem is that ebay very incorrectly told you that you couldn't do that.

If ebay was a level playing field this would be a non-issue.

I would not be surprised if the ebay personnel who deleted your listings, and who told you they were duplicate listings, do not understand the policy, particularly as applied to coins (as another member noted in this thread). In general, ebay would benefit from hiring and training staff to work in specialized areas such as numismatics. Unfortunately, they are so focused on trying to compete with Amazon that I doubt they care much about this market. ~ Mark
