Skippy72 Valued Member United States 447 Posts	Posted 01/02/2020 01:34 am good evening everyone I was just wondering if this is a type of toning for the Jefferson nickel with the black and gunmetal it's hard for me to show you the color exactly but the high points are a bluish gunmetalit's hard for me to show you the color exactly but the high points are a bluish gunmetal look to it with the low-lying areas more of a black.... John1 I wasn't sure what to make of this and I do know about the black beauties but I was not sure if this one made the cut as it was not pure black as others seemed to appear but it is a pretty neat bluish kind of gunmetal. John1 in all seriousness are the black beauties actually black through the coin itself or just the surface? And again, I have no knowledge of these so my question is without pun. Thanks... The most common date for genuine BB's is 1959-P . Although I think some 1958's may have that characteristic also . Your Nickel is just toned that way . Report this Post to the Staff
