I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. Logic is in the eye of the beholder, which can be both beneficial and beautiful when opinions and viewpoints differ.

This is the second time I have opened up a return with AuctionKings, and both times I have received the same response: "Hello, Thank you so much for reaching out. No problem on the return, your R.A.N number is 5421. Please open up a return request through ebay and please only select " just didn't like the item" once you do that we will send you a free shipping return label. Thanks again for reaching out, have a wonderful day. Kamryn".

I left a neutral feedback last night for one item, just received this message. Neutral feedback was being generous on my behalf. Still have six more items to leave feedback on. "Hi there, We would like to reach out regarding the neutral feedback. That tool is only supposed to be used for last resort scenarios. Its important to reach out to the seller and give them an opportunity to make things right before you leave bad remarks on people's accounts. We would like to resolve this issue any way we can you can definitely return the item for a full refund or we can offer a partial refund if you wish to keep the item? Please let us know how we can fix this, thank you so much for your business, and I hope you have a wonderful day. Kamryn" After one of the first coins from AK, I wrote Kamryn encouraging him to be more accurate and honest with his/their listings. I never received a response back.

I would leave negative feedback and return the item with "received wrong item" because the coin you received is clearly not the coin in the photos. Never take a seller's word for the description of a coin. You NEED to grade the coin yourself, and there is no way around that. No more of this "Oops I fell for DMPL COIN MIRRORS WOW again." Quote: At this point in your learning curve, I would definitely stick to buying graded coins. I wholeheartedly disagree with this comment as a collector needs to learn grading at one point or another instead of relying on the opinion of another person with plastic entombed coins. You can still get messed up buying only TPG graded coins.

Jacrispies - have you reviewed the ebay listing for this...? My purchase was based not only on the title, but also on the photos. I'm not sure what you would grade this coin based on the photos in ebay listing, but I certainly thought it was a higher grade than the actual coin received, as evidenced by the photos I've shared. Not knowing what you know now based off of my thread here, what would you have graded this coin based on the listing. Here is is the listing: https://www.ebay.com/itm/394380920172

Quote: Could it be my bad luck.....? No, I think it's your "looking to score $$$" blinders. Just being brutally honest. Nobody is going to stop you from falling for this stuff until you remove those blinders.

kbbpll - I agree with your opinion. That's why I'm here so that I can learn and avoid such situations in the future. It is no secret that I want to score a deal. When I sell something, I give a deal (not only coins), so sometimes I don't mind getting one myself. The only thing lost with this deal was my time, but in return I am smarter and so will other people. Plus I get a laugh out of some of the comments on here. I'm guessing this forum is here to protect and help educate folks in the coin community so I do not see the issue with posting topics like this. I feel like some are offended by them, if this is the consensus I will stop posting these type of articles.

I don't think anyone here is 'offended' with your posts, just a little frustrated. You seem bent on spending your money in the hope that other humans are always honest and forthright. Let me break it to you....they are not. Posters on this site generally try to look out for the well being of their fellow collectors, that's why you are reading posts that seem annoyed....because they are.

I appreciate it and can understand the perspective of why some would be irritated. I have been known for being gullible it I like to think of it as trusting. At the end of the day I exchanged a little bit of time and tape and learned a lot. I appreciate all the feedback even the ones that appear to be irritated with the discussion. Thank you for a great community!

Giving a reason for return as "just didn't like the item" lets them off the hook for their deception.

with @Zurie. Don't let them get away with this "didn't like the item" stuff. The coin pictured is not the coin you received, and they know it.

Quote:AuctionKings photos are juiced, and the photos do not represent what the coin looks like in hand. Buying a coin from this seller in a TPG holder or raw is going to be a problem. The seller shows 100% feedback, but has 344 revised feedbacks that ebay has removed. There is one current negative feedback that could have tipped you off not to buy from the seller as noted below: "Sellers photos are not a misrepresentation of what the coins actually look like. He says black and white with mirrors buts it's grossly exaggerated and there is no black look whatsoever. Look up the coins on the verification sites for PCGS and NGC if you want to see what they truly look like. Grade is sound of course but the description is grossly exaggerated and misleading to say the very least. Not sure what method of photography they use but it's done in such a way to mislead how the coin looks". In one day the seller's revised feedback has gone from 344 to 346 and the negative feedback above has been removed. The seller spends a lot of time and effort in keeping his bogus 100% feedback rating.

Just got my Mercury dime in the mail that I ordered on December 14th. Wow Auction Kings an absolute match lololol. Criminals. To make ebay a stronger case, I am tempted to buy more in order to keep better documentation and evidence if need be. Crappy-looking coin with environmental damage from what I can see.
Please start a new thread for a new coin.

For your own peace of mind please stop buying from this guy, return the coins. If you want, send ebay his pics compared to what you got, report it. But I doubt that will be enough to shut him down. I suggest you move on.
