I found this in with a lot of wheat back cents. Sorry for the cell phone pics, but I can't find find the cord to charge my old D-100 Nikon right now. Is this possibly worth more due to condition?

Nice find. I'm thinking somewhere in the XF45-AU52 range--given the posted photos. For market value, suggest checking ebay sold information for the same item. Disregard asking price, look at sold/completed info.

Thanks guys... I have a lot more of these ranging from 1911 to 1958. Some are not so good, but a few are as good as this or maybe even better. They have been out of circulation since the late 1940s. I think I have a few 1943 steel pennies that look just as good as this one as well.

I'd call it AU+. Looks like there is a touch of Verdigris on it that you should remove.

RodgerDodger2023,

Make sure to start a new thread for each coin. Just a note; 1943 cents are known to be re-plated.

Again thanks to all. Bh1964 - You say I need to remove the Verdigris from the coin? How would I do that without hurting the value? I have always believed that cleaning a coin will reduce the value. Thanks

Cleaning a coin is a BIG no-no. Conserving a coin is ok. You need to use VerdiCare on the Verdigris.

I'll say AU-55 sharpness, odd color.

Thanks Coinfrog... The color of the coin is actually a bit more of a brownish red as one would expect from aged bronze. I took these pictures with my cell phone using available lighting i.e. a cool white florescent bulb and a few LEDs. I cleaned the images up in Photoshop and tried to adjust the color as best I could, so these are not totally accurate.

110 year old bronze coins can be dark brown. The color looks fine to me. And yes, try VerdiCare.
