About 4 months ago I bought 2 rolls of 1955-S to fill a gap in the binders, and I noticed a mixture of mint mark sizes. I thought I saw a recent post in here of 1955-S mint mark types, but maybe not.

Does anyone know of a reference or publication that shows the types AND population counts of each type of "S" used in the 1955-S coin?

If it can be broken down to say, proof sets, mint sets and typical minting, at least it can provide me a good write up of the 1955-S year.

I thought I read that there was THREE different "S's" for the 1955-S year ?

This is the type of mint mark that's on both rolls of the 1955-S I have;

The 1952-1974 used the Tall-S style:

1952 was the last year that used the Serif-S of these two styles.

Mintmark Style-002 (Small S) used from 1917-1941
Mintmark Style-003 (Large S) used only in 1928
Mintmark Style-004 (Trumpet Tail Serifs) used from 1941-1942 and again in 1945-1952
Mintmark Style-005 (Straight Serifs) used from 1943-1944
Mintmark Style-006 (Ball Serif) used from 1944-1946
Mintmark Style-007 (Sans Serif) used from 1946-1947
Mintmark Style-008 (Tall S) used from 1952-1974
Mintmark Style-009 (Blob S) used from 1974-1979 (74 proof & business strikes, proof only 75-79)
Mintmark Style-010 used from 1979-1981(proofs only)

Thanks Doc, that site will come in handy, especially when I am cracking all the proof sets.
