As GO says, most people pick their birth year. Other dates are: birth year of a child, graduation year, year you got married, really any date that has a specific meaning to you.
Rest in Peace

And copper is cheapest, except for key/semi-key dates.

If you take a try at coin roll searching you may find coins more valuable than their face value at face value.

I like to search nickels because the dates are a little bigger and the odds of finding an old one are higher.

I think I am going to put together a 1938 and 1939 set in this upcoming year.
I know right now I can dig up a nice 5 coin set for Denver 1939 in uncirculated and maybe all the 1939 coins made for regular circulation as well.
That's a good start.

My 1938 D half is not UNC though. But what the heck, maybe the 1938 set will be a attractive circulated set?
