Ok guys I found this coin hunting at first I thought it says 1959 but then look closer and turns out to be 39 is that 3 in 1939 damage or mint error or one of those rare counterfeit nickels peoples looking for?
There are more than a few "gals" here on CCF...just sayin'. The counterfeit you speak of is called a Henning nickel, use search box upper left of page for lots of info.I see no error, just normal circulation bumps & bruises John1
I had the same reaction for the first 1939 I found. The 1939 nickel might be the oldest coin one still has a reasonable chance of encountering in the wild.
