Buddy Rest in Peace United States 7075 Posts	Posted 11/14/2011 4:30 pm If I recall correctly, minimum wage was $1.25 and hour in 1964. And taxes and SS were witheld from that. So that $90 coin would still be out of reach for a lot of people. Forgetting taxes, anything over $10 was a day's pay for a store clerk.
