Always fun to find old coin price guides and books. I've got all the old Red Books from number 1 to present and some of the prices in those are really almost funny.

Just ordered the 1962 Red Book on ebay. Since I bought most of my collection almost 50 yrs ago, it'll be interesting to compare with the 2010 issue.

If I recall correctly, minimum wage was $1.25 and hour in 1964. And taxes and SS were witheld from that. So that $90 coin would still be out of reach for a lot of people. Forgetting taxes, anything over $10 was a day's pay for a store clerk.

And a bottle of (small) Coca Cola pop was about 5 cents.

And a penny match was a penny match up until about the 90's.

So that VF at $125 was 13 days pay. 13 days pay for me right now would be $1700. What does a VF list at today?
