Well, I have no idea what they will eventually be worth, but I am now getting an idea what a graded site can be worth. I saw a set graded MS69 by NGC go for $1275 last night on ebay, and the same seller now has a set of MS70 coins with a buy it now price of over $1900.

I suspect that had I sent in my sets to be graded they would have come back as a mixture of grades, and perhaps even lower than MS69, but it still makes me think that maybe I should have gone that route after all...

I have been sending in ASE's to be graded for many years now and I can say it is EXTREMELY rare to get anything below MS69 on collector coins (PF's and W's). Bullion coins from a Mint tube are another issue.

Those MS69 prices will make grading VERY worthwhile and that 70 set at $1900 is a major bargain....

I will add that prices for graded sets available now are NOT a market indicator as there are way too few sets available. Wait a couple of weeks when they all start showing up for sale.

A normal market for these high demand products initially sees a spike in prices as those who didn't get sets feel the need to get one "before the price goes up"

Then as more sets come on the market it becomes saturated and prices drop as the market tries to find a real base price. Right now it is just the raw set market that is developing. There are not enough graded sets out there yet.

Months later, as the market matures AND there continues to be collector demand, a true price level will emerge. This price could be anywhere.

I will add that the raw set market price hung in there much longer than I thought with all those sets hitting the streets at the same time. This bodes well for the graded sets since there were a LOT of open sets and key coins for sale excluding them from full set grading...

I think these will be long term big winners but don't be surprised to see a temporary drop very soon...it will be a great buying opportunity for those needing sets.

I picked up my 5 sets from the Post Office today. I can't imagine why the box is so heavy. I will leave it sealed for now until I decide what to do with it. I had originally planned to keep 2 and sell 3, all raw, but after seeing some of the prices I am just not sure now. I am quite tempted to send them to PCGS. It is difficult not to open the box.

Maybe they sent you 10 sets instead of 5.... Nah, the sets are heavy. They are around 3lbs a piece according to the box weight

As long as there are 2 unique coins in the set, the value will keep up nicely.

However, if it turns out there is a third unique coin, it gets even better.
