To me it looks like a Victorinus, possibly RIC V-2 114 Victorinus AE Antoninianus. IMP C VICTORINVS PF AVG, radiate, draped, cuirassed bust right / INV-I-CTVS, Sol walking left, holding whip, right hand raised, star in left field. Cologne

It was struck 268-270 AD. Any coin for a dollar is well worth it. Welcome to the realm of Ancients. Yes, you will have a lot to learn, but stick around on this site and you will learn something new daily. There are those on this forum who seem to know their stuff and are willing to share their knowledge.

The full obverse legend is there. This might be a coin to soak in distilled water for a while and rub with bare fingers. I don't encourage harsher cleaning but this one has details under the deposits. Well worth the dollar...
