Quote: I have always liked this banknote and series Me too, the '35 series is easily my favorite. Quote: This is my low end collection. Nothing special after the first couple pictures. You could turn some of those Journey and Frontier series notes into some very nice classic banknotes. Nice looking collection.

I'm just not sure what I want to collect yet so I don't want to make silly purchases.

That is a smart move.
I would go for the 1935 series personally.

Why is that? Rarity? Design?Popularity?

For all three of those reasons.
It is an all around beautiful series. You also get odd denominations like the $25 note.

Yah, I love the 1935 series as well ... oh, and plus I also really like the nice big ol' oversized notes from the Dominion of Canada (I always think those big notes are like cowboy cash!) => hmmmm ... and I must admit that I like the Devil's Face notes as well (I think that they're very cool) ... apparently I pretty much like it all!!

The '35 series is by far the coolest set to collect. And perhaps the best series to hold its value (or better). This is the first series for the newly formed Bank of Canada. It features a different member of the royal family on each of the denominations. And here's the best part, they were only issued for about 18 months! That makes a limited supply. This was also the first and only year that Bank of Canada issued both french AND english versions of the same issue. 1935 has my vote all the way.
The next time I get a chance I'll post a picture of my pair of french 1935 EF/AU sequential 1's.

Very nice collection wireman, nice grade on the 35 tenspot, always liked the blue two even though queen mary looks scary. Interesting serial number on the 54 five, I think the back is the best of the series.
--> Canadian Bannknotes, not a big fan of the birds either, but I like the owl 50 and I like the birds better than the journey series.

Nice collection! I'd sure like to know how you got those uncirculated $10 journeys. Ever since I got back into collecting 2 years ago I have not found one single $10 unc. Went to many many banks, my mom is looking every day in her till but nothing :( lol

I would personally take the Journey series over the Birds series any day. I find that the birds series is just so boring to look at, and it has very "washed out" colours.

I hit my small town bank on a good day for the uncirculated $10 journey notes. I have a stack of uncirculated $5 as well in that series.
