Well you tell me what you think would be reasonable?

I have had such a hard time finding a solid and I've been searching for almost 3 years.......... so when this opportunity came across my path... I jumped with both feet

They are such unique items and it's hard to find similar items for price comparisons.

True.. but I remember there was a TCNC auction that had a lot of solids, ladders and such... but as I went through my history of auctions I couldn't find any of them or what those notes had gone for... so I kinda ball parked it... and just said give me your best price...it seemed reasonable enough... (I don't think I would've said no) meh... just wondering what cooler heads would've put down....

I'd be happy having payed somewhere in the $500-$800 range for those solids (each).

Great looking notes AgCoinAu!

Book value on the '54 $10 is $1,400 and $1,000 on the '69 $20.

Whenever I see these up for sale, the seller is usually asking 10-15% more than book value. The notes may not sell at that price, but it would allow for more negotiation room.

If you look through some old auctions (Torex, Coin Exp, TCNC Auctions) you will find many solids that have sold in the past. I remember a couple years ago, high grade solids, similar to your $10 were selling for $1,800-$2,000 at auction. The market for these seems to have died down since then.

Thanks buddy.. couldn't find any current auction prices.. although I know in the past year the TCNC had some fantastic notes go up...

Seems the market may have really slowed down on these notes as 2+2 was saying 5-800 a piece... I guess I will have to watch the next few auctions to see what kind of appetite is out there.. I would like to hold on to these for a few decades but also don't want to be the one holding the potatoe when the music stops... (bad metaphor using both hot potato and musical chairs LOL)

I have a HUGE pile of notes like this, plus fractional notes and railroad bonds, notes, ect. With probably 50 of them being grades by PMG all the way up to 67 68. Is their anywhere to find values? I would much rather sell on ebay then to send to heritage or another auction company.

That's what I'd be happy to pay, as I don't like paying much more than 1/2 book for banknotes. I'm sure some would gladly pay much more for em

Two plus two:

You must understand I took no offense with your statement what so ever... in fact it was very informative! I like to see the way that others think and what they're willing to pay. Truthfully the more people that feel the way you do... well that will very well drive the market right?

So as a collector... I understand it's important to watch what some "books/cataloges" are saying as the value of certain notes.. but more importantly I feel I should also be aware as to what current auctions and other collectors would be willing to pay as that REALLY drives the market value.
